Terms of use for Students

The Student Computer Labs can be used by all Students of the Faculty of Physics, Astronomy and Applied Computer Science, of the Jagiellonian University.

The Student Computer Labs are intended solely for teaching purposes.

In the Student Computer Labs it is forbidden:

to use the resources for commercial activities,
-
to install and run any user/proprietary software,
-
to install and run computer games (especially network games),
-
to carry out any attempts related to computer or network security (e.g. penetration testing) of the local networks or the Internet,
-
to violate the rules of the Internet community.

On the premises of the Student Computer Labs it is forbidden:

to eat, drink or smoke (including e-cigarettes),
-
to bring large bags/backpacks, etc.

E-mail contact with the staff of the Student Computer Labs is possible only from the domain uj.edu.pl.

User data left in the Student Computer Labs in MS Windows may be modified/deleted without warning. You should always backup your own data (flash drives, cloud).

Students from outside the Faculty can apply for accounts in the Student Computer Labs only through their supervisors.
Terms of use for Teachers

The Student Computer Labs are intended for ongoing didactic classes.

The resources of the Student Computer Labs are not intended for preparing/writing diploma theses. Diploma theses may only be carried out on the resources of the research groups.

Teachers are obliged:

to report the need for software at least one month before the planned use,
-
to check the new software in good time before the first class,
-
to consult any changes to the configuration of the workstations or software with the staff,
-
to report any hardware/software errors, people safety or computer/network security incidents to the staff.

E-mail contact with the staff of the Student Computer Labs is possible only from the domain uj.edu.pl.

User data left in the Student Computer Labs in MS Windows may be modified/deleted without warning. You should always backup your own data (flash drives, cloud).

If the supervisor has students from outside the Faculty of FAIS, accounts in the Student Computer Labs must be reported for them personally, providing the student IDs of those students.
